At some time, your jewelry will need the attention of a trained jewelry repairman. After all, if you love your jewelry, you'll wear it all the time. Stones can loosen, prongs can bend and chains can break. Wear and tear on jewelry is the same as on your car, every now and then it will need a "tune up." Malloves believes in preventive maintenance so you can always stop in for a free check up and cleaning of your jewelry! You can trust Malloves to give you a free estimate upfront for any necessary jewelry or watch repairs.
Tom the Goldsmith
Malloves is proud to have Tom as our goldsmith. Tom has over 30 years experience in soldering, sizing, casting, and mounting for all standard, channel & bezel settings and lapidary (cutting and polishing of semi-precious gemstones and making them into cabachons or inlays). Tom personally does all of the jewelry repairs himself. This means your jewelry will never leave our store. It also means that your jewelery will always be returned to you on time and in exquisite condition.

Tom has been a goldsmith since 1978. He is experienced in all aspects of jewelry design. He is known for his lapidary skills of cutting and polishing semi-precious gemstones, such as opal or turquoise, and making them into cabachons or inlay jewelry pieces. He handles all of the jewelery repairs at our store including ring sizing, soldering, and custom designs. That's the difference in shopping at a full-service, fine jewelry store. At Malloves, you'll find an experienced, certified goldsmith who can make every piece of jewelry look as good as the day you bought it!

Can't find that perfect piece? Tom prides himself on being able to take customers ideas and bring them to life as unique, beautiful jewelry. He'd be happy to sit down with you and develop a plan to make your design into reality! If you no longer wear your jewelry, because it's out of style or you're simply bored with the design, he will help you turn it into the stylish creation you'd like it to be. What does it cost? Surprisingly, not much more than other fine jewelry. All work is done in-house at our Goldsmith Shoppe. Your jewelry will not leave our store.

We stand behind every item we sell. To ensure your continued satisfaction, we'll help you maintain your jewelry. Bring your jewelry into the Goldsmith Shoppe every 3 months for FREE maintenance. We'll inspect the item, tighten prongs where needed, and clean the item — all at no charge to you. Your cherished jewelry will be returned to you like new — as fresh and exciting as the day you bought it.
Appraisal Service

To guarantee that your fine jewelry is adequately insured, it should generally be appraised every three years. After all, quality jewelry is an investment, and like any investment, values increase over time. It's important that you regularly update your policy so that your insurance will adequately cover current replacement value in the event of a loss.

At Malloves, we recognize the importance of appraisal. To that end, we've established a regular appraisal service, available by appointment only. When you bring your jewelry to Malloves for appraisal, you'll meet with a licensed, certified appraiser. She'll carefully examine your jewelry and provide a written estimate you can send to your insurance company so that those pieces are properly insured. There will be a charge for appraisals depending on material and stones. Carey will explain any fees upfront.
